Fear Free Means Happy Paws: Tips for a Stress Free Nail Trim

As a veterinary technician in a general practice, I’ve had many clients each week ask for help with a quick “puppy/kitty pedicure”. Fear Free Seminar with Dr. Marty Becker, DVM

On April 26th, the A&R Critter Care team was privileged to attend a Seminar hosted at Mile High Stadium where we heard Dr. Marty Becker speak about an initiative called Fear Free.  To say the least, we were incredibly impressed and are making it a priority for ARCC to be the first professional pet care service (in the country!) to have a Fear Free Certified Professional and begin implementing this practice! We absolutely loved hearing more about this initiative because, being veterinary professionals, we’ve felt that there is always more we can do to help reduce a pet’s fear and anxiety  when it comes to not only veterinary visits, but also medical treatments at home. How to Give Your Pet Subcutaneous Fluids: Part 2 (Tips & Tricks)

This article is Part 2 of a 2-Part Series on how to help you give your pets subcutaneous fluids (see Part 1 on how to set up your fluid line). Subcutaneous (or SQ) fluid treatments are most commonly recommended for pets with chronic renal disease (CRD) or kidney failure.
