Help Your Pet Enjoy the 4th of July as Much as You Do!

Most people really love the 4th of July; it’s a time to celebrate with family and friends and officially kick off our summer and enjoy some fireworks. Please be aware, however, that your pets will not be enjoying most of these festivities! The 4th of July weekend is when the MOST pets go missing and/or never return home; an increase of almost 30%. Fear Free Seminar with Dr. Marty Becker, DVM

On April 26th, the A&R Critter Care team was privileged to attend a Seminar hosted at Mile High Stadium where we heard Dr. Marty Becker speak about an initiative called Fear Free.  To say the least, we were incredibly impressed and are making it a priority for ARCC to be the first professional pet care service (in the country!) to have a Fear Free Certified Professional and begin implementing this practice! We absolutely loved hearing more about this initiative because, being veterinary professionals, we’ve felt that there is always more we can do to help reduce a pet’s fear and anxiety  when it comes to not only veterinary visits, but also medical treatments at home. Pet Food: 3 Things Your Veterinarian Probably Won’t Tell You

10 Reasons Why Veterinary House Calls Are Awesome!

There was a time, so long ago, when the doctor would come to your house, treat your illness, then have a cup of coffee with your family.  Up until recently, the only doctors who made house calls anymore were farm vets.  Now you have me, Dr. D – I will come to your house, take care of your pets, and leave you happier and less stressed out.  You don’t even have to give me a cup of coffee.

9.  You don’t have to get in the car.

Can’t drive?  Physical limitation?  Giant stubborn dog who won’t get in the car?  Little dog who vomits every time you drive them somewhere?  Multiple children (or just one) to cart around with you?  It’s tough sometimes.  As Bob Marley says, don’t worry about a thing.  Dr. D will come to you. Oh, Rats! Why These Furry Critters Are Such Popular Pets

After growing up with dogs, I couldn’t imagine leaving home for college and not having my loving companions there with me. I’d played with the mice and gerbils in past science classes, and wasn’t too enthralled or interested in having a cage pet. And then I met Bebop.
